Home from TWO different trips

I was in Chantilly VA for work last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  While in Virginia I took in a baseball game.  I went to see the Nationals and the Red Sox play.  It was sooo much fun and we had great seats.  I even rode the Metro (I have very little experience with public transportation). I flew home on Sunday and went to see My Sister's Keeper which was okay.  I have read the book and it is EXCELLENT, so the movie left a lot out and the ending is different.  Then on Monday, which was my Husband's Birthday I(Happy Birthday Chuck!) we left Hot Florida and Headed to HOT VEGAS for a few days.  We stayed at the Stratosphere (for free!) and enjoyed being together sans children.  I did not take a single photo while we were there.  I just enjoyed and experienced, plus cameras aren't allowed in the Casinos where I donated some money.  We flew home today and I am exhausted.  We were up at 4 am this morning to catch our long flight home.

Sketch Inspiration

As many of you know, I love sketches...I am always looking for inspiration and sometimes I feel the need to scrapbook but don't have a lot of time and Sketches help me get my scrapbooking done in a timely manner.  One of the sources I go to for a sketch is the Scrap-Mart Blog.  That is where the inspiration for this lo came from...I also used papers and supplies that can be found in their store.

Creative Play

There are several great monthly kits out there....some that come with projects complete with photos and instructions like the  one found here, some that are strictly products like Scrap Muse and many others.  I receive one from Scrapbook Obsessions every month and I have been making an effort to use up the kits each month.  Sometimes it's hard because I am busy, or I don't like the paper as much or I don't have photos that will work with the kits (this rarely happens though).  This month the kit includes Cosmo Cricket PP and some great embellishments.  I have been home for a weekend or two and have had time to get a little creative..

Home away from Home

I am sitting in the airport getting ready to head to Chantilly VA for the Great American Scrapbook Convention that is taking place there.  Looking forward to getting back to the shows, I am really lucky to do what I do and even more lucky since I LOVE it.  After this show, I don't teach at a convention until the second week of August...but that doesn't mean a break is in store for me nope.  We have two of our PRIVATE RESERVES coming up in July, then there is CHA Summer where we will be releasing two new paper lines...WOOHOO!!  Here is a sneak peek of the paper....This is the monthly kit option B (or D) project for June....

June Club Q option b  The paper line is Patsy's Paradise and it is a fabulous line with six double sided papers.

I made it to the hair salon yesterday, not too sure how I feel about it though.  I loved it yesterday when I left the salon but this morning when I tried to do it myself, not so much...

and finally, I captured a photo of the stupid snake that killed our AC for a little while...(so gross!)

NO BUENO = Broken Air Conditioner

On Monday evening, I was trying to go to sleep but it was really hot in our house.  I checked the thermostat, 84 degrees (at 11 pm I might add!).  So I told Chuck I think our air conditioner is broken followed by some adult words...we shut the air off (thinking it just froze up from working so hard since it is Africa hot here right now)....next morning, turned it back on, 1/2 hour later still no change, now it's 85 in the house.  Called the company, earliest they could come out to look at it was FRIDAY......FRIDAY are you kidding me???? Luckily we have a wonderful neighbor who came and fixed it for us by 2 pm on Tuesday (which is good cause the temp in the house at this point was 89)...a snake, that's right A SNAKE about the thickness of my finger and maybe a foot long had slithered (or whatever it is they do) into our unit and crossed the positive and negative portion of the battery at the same time frying not only the battery for the unit but himself as well.  TO A CRISP...I called Chuck at work, told him what happened and his reply...."Damn thing deserved to die for breaking our air conditioner".....Thank you friendly neighbor, because not only did our air conditioner get repaired in a timely manner, but it cost us a whole lot less as well.  I will never take air conditioning for granted again.

Time is going too fast

We are now less than a month away from our first Private Reserve being held in Novi.  I just spent the last weekend at our Corporate Headquarters in Washington State working on projects and getting things together.  I can hardly believe we are three weeks away from the big event.  I am pretty excited to get going on these and can I just say the projects ARE FABULOUS!!!  in preparation for the events, I had to find a photo of me as a baby...so since it is on the computer, I will share it here too...

Michelle Baby photo pretty darn funny...I have been spending a little bit of time scrapping to.  Not nearly as much as I would like but enough to get a few lo's done....

Happy Anniversary Chuck!

Today is my 12th wedding anniversary.  I know this is kind of dorky, but I love my husband more now than I did when we got married.  He is my best friend and the person I want to share both good and bad news with right away.  We have had a great run so far and I am looking forward to many more years of the same and if possible even better.

Still in love Photo from last year (need to get a new one!)

Recovered and Ready for the weekend

GASC Schedule

18 classes in three days = ONE TIRED LADY!!!!  I had a great time in Arlington.  When the show was over I drove up toe Wichita Falls and Taught two more classes at Scrapbooks N Such.  What a great store, if you are ever in the area, please be sure to stop in and see what Terri has to offer.  The store is full of so many fun products and it even has a portrait studio!

I flew home Sunday Evening and didn't walk in my door until Monday AM at 12:30.  Then, because the kids hadn't seen me for a few days, Rhyan was up bright and early.  Needless to say, Monday was VERY unproductive.  Tuesday, I did get to play for a bit though...

You are ppaislee I used the Scrapbook Obsessions June Monthly kit for this one.  Our 12th anniversary is coming up, looking forward to 12 more too.  I am home this weekend and looking forward to playing all weekend long.  I will be going to Piktails here in Orlando to do a make n take on Saturday.  I hope to have lots to share!

We are smack dab in the middle of NBA MAGIC fever here as well.  I am not a big NBA fan, but it is hard not to get caught up in all the excitement around town, GO MAGIC!!!
